
Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) legislation
Matters relating to this legislation will come into force on the 1 April 2018. From this date it is illegal for a Landlord to grant a new letting of a commercial property that has an energy performance certificate (EPC) with an F or G rating.
It will therefore be necessary for the Landlord to improve the energy efficiency of the building to a minimum level E.
From the 1 April 2023 this restriction will apply to all lettings.
